Airtasker is a FRAUD who stole $324.00 from me

Airtasker allows scammers and shonky operators to offer services on its platform with no accountability. Airtasker has NO way of contacting them via phone or email, if you have a problem and don't respond to submitted online reports. Airtasker is a company that SCAMMED me out of $324.00 for a non-completed task, where the tasker was 'no show' and stopped responding to communication. So, I was forced to cancel the task, wait 48hrs for the money Airtasker debited and held as "pending" from my bank account to be returned to my account so that I could hire someone more reliable than "Justin L." But, instead of Airtasker CREDITING my account for a non-completed job, they DEBITED my account and the money is gone!!! Airtasker is nothing more than scammers supporting other scammers. I've now reported FRAUD with the bank and respective authorities. Avoid at all cost.
p.s. Airtasker reply is "a special kind of stupid". Credit for a cancelled job can be used for next job IF it is still unprocessed for the original job. In my case, Airtasker processed the payment transaction for a cancelled "no show" job so the money was no longer available and my bank advised to lodge a payment dispute case. Airtasker takes NO responsibility for stealing my money and acknowledges no fault on their part whatsoever.

Do not use!

I highly suggest not using. This is a scam and your money will be taken and they won’t do anything to help you. Have reached out to their support team got a initial response over a week ago sent a follow up emails and haven’t heard back from them in over 5 days.. this is a joke.

Thanks to "Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman"!
Finally I could fill a dispute against Airtasker somewhere.
I advise others do the same, maybe it forces Airtasker to take some steps to respect their clients and solve their problems in kindly manner.
I have contacted Airtasker several times but they never solved my issue, even though I explained the problem in details.
@Airtasker:
Please stop asking me to contact you again and again while you really don't want to help!

Initiated a new cleaning business and seeking to expand some business on Airtasker, shortly after gaining a few hundred dollars via the platform with 5 star reviews, and ready to upgrade to get a better Tier for a lower servicing fee, then attracting a loser with low completion rate who are struggling to secure a task. He reported me several times for unknown reasons, because I could see he posted negative reviews such as “Don’t trust this person” etc, under almost all of my offers, suddenly my account then gets restricted for “violating general community rules”, then got another message saying “it is a mistake”, but a few hours later got banned again. It is your loser tasker’s inability to secure a task not me. And you are competing with others in an illegal way by randomly reporting others who are doing better than you.
Having no way to do it, finally have to register a new account and get suspended due to “duplication”, what the heck.
My old account and current account are now both suspended and now there is no way to carry out business on Airtasker.
Moderation team is doing nothing for good but as far as I can see is they are helping such losers to screw things up, instead of helping taskers who are more professional and competing in a legal way. Many 5+ users are getting new tasks assigned and meanwhile subcontracting tasks to other users.
They are making more money now via IPO and shares, and starting to charge ridiculously higher servicing fee to exploit more from taskers and posters.
Moderators are passionate about censoring stuff, like Gastapos working with some “general rules”.
Meanwhile, Tim Fung, I hope you should learn about Consumer Law and Labour Act before getting more and more careful about your own pocket.
Update: Your customer service reply is useless, normally take more than 2 days to get a useless copy &paste response from you team. Surprisingly you are replying here faster than on the platform. Your Management is chaotic. You are abusing your rules and power just for extra $$$$ as so-called “22% +GST” Tier servicing fee for your Airtasker Syndicate. I hope you could sleep well each night by working for Airtasker unethical moderation team.

Another indication Airtasker has…

Another indication Airtasker has already failed. I noticed the CEO has listed the company on stock exchange. This usually occurs when a company is trying to raise funds from mug investors. Then the management shuts the business down afterwards and management line their pockets before the collapse. Beware !! Don't invest in this unethical business . You will probably lose your money.
PS I wish the CEO would disappear with his phoney smile and even phonier platitudes. If you care to look at Airtasker pages - every page has 'content moderated'. Censorship of free speech is tantamount of a dictatorship. This mob still hasn't learnt respect for those that enrich them.

Airtasker platform can be good for…

Airtasker platform can be good for those wanting to make a bit of money. You most probably won't make that much unless you have a broad range of skills. But for those with a few hours to spend doing odd jobs it's ok. Above all, I dislike those imbeciles (88 Miles P/H) that waste their time continually ranting about how Airtasker allows unlicensed people to bid for a task. It's a free world 'mate'. There are many very skilled people in society and people like the above should just move on, stop being a cry baby because they were kicked off, and trying to be amateur policemen. It is Airtasker that runs the site - not rabid individuals like the above.

ABSURD FEE'S TAKEN BY AIRTASKER

Just put offer in to complete a task in my area $150 thinking thats a fair offer for the task & distance needed to travel. Airtasker take fee $33 of that for supposed site running costs!!
Really Airtasker..... thats absurd!
In reading other reviews, its obvious Im not alone with this statement ????

DO NOT USE AIRTASKER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE

This is not just about safety. It’s also about the ownership of my intellectual property.
I don’t intend to use anything this individual has done – however, I don’t want him coming back to me, after I redo the videos, and telling me that he has copyright over my material. And if anything like this does happen, I will be seeking legal advice against both Airtasker and this conniving individual.

As I have already stated this dispute has been managed extremely badly with a very generic response and that is simply not acceptable.
The review I posted on Trustpilot was also responded to with a ridiculous, generic response that did not address any of the issues.

Additionally, in the decision regarding the dispute it says very clearly that a note will be made on his profile – that has not happened. Who should I hold responsible for that ?
This man has behaved, quite frankly, in a criminal fashion and you have let him off scot free – disgraceful.

I also note that email addresses that I used to send emails have now blocked me. I didn’t intend to send any more emails regardless, but that, again, is a very bad look and again shows that the executive of Airtasker seems to be unable to do the right thing. Instead of blocking me they should have been apologising. Again, disgraceful behaviour.

Altogether Airtasker has behaved shamefully. I will continue to submit negative reviews until I get a reasonable, tangible outcome that actually takes me into account and not just Airtasker and the Tasker.

I have been in touch by email. No reply since Saturday for a very stressful, distressing situation. Useless. The Poster is left to carry the can for whatever the problem is. All attempts on my part to get something done about an extremely lop- sided and grossly unfair dispute have come to nought.
I will never use you again.
I will keep posting until there is some review.
This is now on my Facebook page.
Instead of telling me to email why don’t you tell your dispute and support people to email me. Your dispute process took nearly two weeks. Shameful customer service. Is it going to take another two weeks to get a reasonable response ?
Yes, they have responded to this review - but they have done nothing about the issues and the situation was never resolved. I paid out money for work that was completely unuseable, done by a bully who threatened me - and Airtasker did nothing.

AIRTASKER IS A SCAM
Absolutely disgraceful that Airtasker provides no type of support to the Poster for sub standard work and for being the butt of fraudulence, dishonesty, bullying and threats – and they have the evidence of that.
In a dispute managed by Airtasker, they have taken the side of the person who has proved himself to be very dishonest, documented on paper – of which they also have evidence.

I can only assume that Airtasker decides disputes on the basis of who is going to continue to contribute to their earnings rather than being decided on the basis of integrity, decency and honesty.
And to the degree that they decide disputes in that manner, they are complicit in the very bad, dishonest, threatening, conniving behaviour of this Tasker – and they have complicitly given him permission to behave like this again.

I am now very curious to know how many disputes this individual has been in and how many people have had a negative experience with him – but as in my case, you have neglected to post any report on his profile (which you told me you would, but you haven't) and who, like myself, have been given no opportunity to post a negative review on the Tasker's profile page.

Gee – it's starting to look very stacked against the Poster, isn't it? Why – because the Tasker contributes earnings. The Poster may be a one time user and a Tasker may well be very busy – and the Tasker I have had an issue with is busy, so he's a good spinner for Airtasker - they want to keep him happy rather than me, so they are prepared to do the wrong thing.
DON'T RISK YOUR MONEY OR YOUR WELLBEING OR YOUR TIME AND ENERGY USING AIRTASKER

Don’t bother!

I made 2 attempts at getting garden maintenance done and no one showed up and their phone was disconnected.
My daughter had the same experience.
Airtasker is rubbish! I suggest don’t use it.

Updated - plumber and airtasker - Beware

. Plumber didn’t turn up on time. Waited for almost an hour (53 minutes) then called him. He was still home and said would come after 30 min. Totalling 1.5 hours late. I told him this level of lateness was unacceptable and he began to mock me about my expectations of punctuality. The disrespect showed me his work would also be as his attitude. He didn’t bother calling me about being grossly late. So I said I had lost confidence in him and cancelled the task based on him not turning up as agreed and his terrible attitude. He became vindictive and refused the cancellation so now my money is frozen. He has clearly told airtasker the task was cancelled by me (as opposed to starting the job) yet they have not given my money back. This whole thing is a sham. Airtasker sides with the tasker rather than the poster. The poster pays both the tasker and the company Airtasker) yet the poster is downtrodden. The matter has caused me undue stress and hardship. There is no standards upheld by airtasker and this plumber brings down the whole airtasker community. Despicable disrespectful attitude.
UPDATE ON THIS MATTER.
All the above events took place at the time of writing AS STATED. The matter was repeatedly reported to airtasker where I insisted they release my funds that were kept unlawfully. After being ignored, On Sat 26/9/20 out of desperate measure I posted the matter as a “task” on airtasker. Magically after I did that, I get informed my Funds should reappear in my account within 5-7 days and the plumbers task has been cancelled. Why didn’t they do that in the first place?
I also received a second letter soon after it threatening to close my account for posting the truth (my story above) publicly as a “task”.
This website seeks to allow people to speak the truth without being muzzled. Airtasker reporting my story on here as breaching trustpilot is indicative of how they have tried to avoid accountability for their behaviour. people should beware of their wrongful conduct toward the “posters”My advice is find your “tasker” yourself the good old fashion way by calling businesses directly. It has taken me days of constantly posting to customer service support requests and out of desperation actually posting what happened on their “tasks” before I actually got my money credited back. I shared with them evidence that the task was not started yet I was not able to get my money back without going through the desperate means that I did. I am disgusted at Airtasker trying to muzzle the truth on here. They should clean up their act rather than muzzle the truth. They caused me undue suffering and violated their own guidelines that are supposedly there to ensure the safety of people’s money when they accept a taskers offer. I feel like I was thrown into the hands of bandits the moment I accepted this unscrupulous plumbers offer. I didn’t know he was like that until he was supposed to provide the service. Stay safe. Stay true to speaking out. I will NEVER use airtasker again. I informed them if my
Funds were not returned by the weekend, I would take them to ACCC. They have said my funds have been returned and should appear 5-7 days this allaying my ACCC composing that I intended to lodge on Monday. I have written evidence for this entire account. Interestingly that airtasker merely reported my account rather than address it via a reply here. Why haven’t they replied instead of trying to shut down my report on here? The reason is the report is truthful and accurate. Something very difficult to try to explain away.

I think it is legit but I think they are run dishonestly like a scam.
They will not assist you if something goes wrong. They side on the side of the Poster - because that's who' earning them money - even when they have evidence that there has been a problem.
If there is a dispute, it won't be decided on the evidence and you are not given any right of appeal once they make a decision. This is the problem with paying upfront - if there is a problem with the quality of the work and/or the behaviour of the Poster you have no support and no recourse to fairness.
